Bona R410 is a solvent and water-free, 2-component epoxy resin, suitable for damp-proofing concrete or cement subfloors, or use as a primer before the application of a suitable adhesive or levelling compound. Two coats are required when used as a damp proofer - allow 3 hours between coats.
The substrate must be even, dry to the touch, clean, free from cracks, and physically sound. It should also be slightly textured. If necessary it should be professionally prepared for laying.
Suitable substrates (also in association with underfloor heating) are:
- Cementitious screed
- Concrete
- Floors levelled with levelling compounds (at least 2mm thick)
- Particle board (yellow tongue, etc.)/ plywood/ etc (as primer only)
Where Bona R410 is used as a moisture barrier with Bona Adhesive at least 12 hours must elapse before the flooring is installed.
The resin and hardener components are supplied in the correct proportions as a single unit with two sections. To add component B (in the cover unit) to component A (bucket) simply take a large screwdriver and make a hole in the bottom of the cover unit whilst it is in place above the bucket. Leave for a few minutes for Component B to drain into the bucket. Remove the cover unit and mix thoroughly, e.g. using a drill with a stirrer.
Coverage as a primer: 150-250g/m²
Coverage as a damp proofer: 500g/m²
