Protection & Packing
Keeping the rest of a room clean and undamaged while flooring work is underway matters as much as the fitting itself, and this range covers the dust sheets, tapes, and site protection that make that possible. ProDec and Silverline supply most of the stock here.
Dust sheets and surface protection
Polythene dust sheets, sold in a few sizes including a full 3.6m x 2.7m sheet and a smaller mini version, cover furniture and floors from dust and debris during fitting or finishing work. A zipped door protector kit does the same job for a doorway, sealing off a room being worked on so dust doesn't spread through the rest of the house while a floor is being sanded or fitted.
Masking tapes
Several masking tape variants are stocked for different jobs: low-tack masking tape lifts cleanly without pulling paint or finish underneath, which matters on a freshly finished floor or wall, while precision edge tape gives a sharper, cleaner line where accuracy matters more than speed. General purpose masking tape covers everyday taping needs where low-tack precision isn't the priority, and wet paint tape is specifically formulated to signal and protect a surface that's still curing.
Heavy-duty and weatherproofing tape
Super heavy duty duct tape and all weather tape are built for more demanding jobs than standard masking tape, holding up to conditions or loads that a low-tack tape isn't designed for. Self-adhesive weather strip, available in white and brown, is a slightly different product: a draught seal rather than a temporary protective tape, useful around doors and windows as part of a wider room refresh alongside flooring work.
Cleaning during the job
A centre feed towel roll gives a practical, continuous supply of wiping material during a job, useful for general cleanup as work progresses rather than reaching for household kitchen roll, which tends to run out fast on a job of any size.
FAQ
Why use low tack masking tape instead of standard masking tape?
Low tack tape is designed to lift away cleanly without pulling up paint or finish underneath, which matters most on a freshly painted wall or newly finished floor.
What's a door protector kit used for?
It seals off a doorway to stop dust from a sanding or fitting job spreading into the rest of the house while work is in progress.
Is weather strip the same as masking tape?
No, it's a different product. Weather strip is a self-adhesive draught seal for doors and windows, not a temporary protective tape.
