Junckers 2-Strip is a substantial solid wood floor spanning four species — oak, beech, ash and maple — across three distinct grades: Classic, Harmony and Variation. With consistent 129mm boards available in both 14mm and 22mm thicknesses, and a choice of untreated, oiled or lacquered finishes, it's one of the most flexible solid wood ranges available, letting you match species, grade and finish to suit almost any project.

    Key Features

    • Solid 2-strip construction, giving genuine full-depth timber rather than an engineered top layer
    • Two thickness options — 14mm and 22mm — depending on the line
    • Consistent 129mm boards across the range
    • Three grades — Classic, Harmony and Variation — each offering a different balance of consistency and natural character
    • Four wood species — Oak, Beech, Light Ash and Maple
    • Finish choice across Untreated, Oiled, Silk Matt Lacquered and Ultra Matt Lacquered
    • Genuinely solid timber, giving maximum scope for sanding and refinishing over the floor's lifetime

    Choosing Species, Grade and Finish

Junckers' three grades give real control over how uniform or characterful the finished floor looks: Classic keeps the grain calm and consistent, Harmony sits in the middle, and Variation embraces more of the timber's natural markings and colour variation. Beech offers both a natural tone and the deeper SylvaRed and SylvaKet options, while oak, ash and maple each bring their own grain character. Leaving boards untreated gives complete flexibility to finish on site, while the oiled and lacquered options are ready to fit straight away.

    Where 2-Strip Works Best

    • Projects wanting genuine solid wood — full-depth timber rather than an engineered veneer
    • Rooms wanting a specific grade of consistency — Classic, Harmony and Variation each suit a different look
    • Long-term investment floors — the solid construction allows extensive sanding and refinishing over decades
    • Projects wanting finish flexibility — the untreated option allows on-site staining or finishing to match a specific scheme

    FAQ

What's the difference between the Classic, Harmony and Variation grades?
Classic gives the most consistent, calm grain pattern, Harmony sits in the middle, and Variation shows the most natural colour and grain variation across boards.

Why choose an untreated board over a pre-finished one?
Untreated boards can be sanded, stained and finished on site, giving complete control over the final colour and sheen to match a specific project.

What's the difference between the 14mm and 22mm thickness options?
Both are genuinely solid boards; the 22mm option offers a more substantial feel and greater scope for future sanding and refinishing over the floor's lifetime.

Can Junckers 2-Strip flooring be sanded and refinished?
Yes. As a solid wood floor, it offers significant scope for sanding and refinishing multiple times over its lifespan.

What's the difference between the wood species on offer?
Oak offers the widest tonal range, beech comes in natural and richer SylvaRed/SylvaKet tones, ash has a lighter, more open grain, and maple gives a pale, subtle look.
