There are a lot of flooring options on the market, but one that is growing in popularity is Xylo flooring. It is a durable and sustainable flooring option that can be installed in both residential and commercial properties.

    Installation

Installation is one of the main benefits of Xylo engineered flooring. This type of flooring is designed to be easy to install, and it can be done by anyone with basic do-it-yourself skills. In most cases, Xylo engineered flooring can be installed directly over an existing subfloor, which saves time and money. Additionally, Xylo engineered floors are often eligible for a "floating floor" installation, which means that no nails or staples are required. This makes Xylo an ideal choice for areas where nailing or stapling would be difficult, such as in basements or on top of concrete slabs. As a result, Xylo engineered flooring provides a quick and easy way to achieve a beautiful new floor.

    Maintenance

One of the main benefits of Xylo engineered flooring is that it is very easy to maintain. Unlike hardwood floors, which require regular waxing and polishing, Xylo engineered floors only need to be swept or vacuumed on a regular basis. In addition, they are resistant to scratches and stains, making them ideal for busy households with pets and children. Another benefit of  Xylo engineered flooring is that it is highly durable. This type of flooring is made up of multiple layers of wood, all of which are bonded together using pressure and heat. As a result, Xylo engineered floors are much less likely to warp or crack than solid hardwood floors. In addition, they can be refinished multiple times, so they will look new for many years to come. For all these reasons, Xylo engineered flooring is an excellent choice for anyone who wants the beauty of hardwood floors without the hassle of maintaining them.

    Durable

Xylo engineered flooring is one of the most popular choices on the market today, and for good reason. Xylo floors are extremely durable, easy to clean, and resist staining and fading. They are also a great choice for homes with pets, as the hard surface is resistant to scratches. In addition, Xylo engineered floors are less likely to warp or cup than solid hardwood floors. And because they are made with a thin layer of real wood veneer over a core of plywood or OSB, they are more stable in fluctuating humidity levels than solid hardwood floors. Xylo floors are available in a wide variety of colours and styles, making it easy to find the perfect look for your home.

    Adds value to your home

Adds value to your home: One of the most important benefits of Xylo engineered flooring is that it increases the resale value of your home. This is because potential buyers are always looking for features that will make their lives easier, and Xylo engineered flooring provides just that. Not only does it require less maintenance than other types of flooring, but it also has a luxurious look and feel that will make your home stand out from the rest.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Engineered wood flooring consists of a real wood top layer (veneer) bonded to a multi-layer plywood or HDF core. This construction makes it dimensionally stable, resistant to moisture changes, and suitable for underfloor heating — unlike solid wood.

Yes. Engineered wood flooring is one of the best choices for underfloor heating systems. The multi-layer construction prevents warping and expansion that solid wood can experience with temperature changes. We recommend boards no wider than 190mm for optimal performance.

With proper care, engineered wood flooring lasts 25–50 years depending on the thickness of the top wear layer. Boards with a 4mm+ veneer can be sanded and refinished 2–3 times, extending their lifespan significantly.

Yes. We offer dedicated trade accounts with competitive pricing for interior designers, architects, contractors and flooring fitters. Apply for a trade account or call us on 020 8830 9789.

Solid wood is milled from a single piece of timber, while engineered wood has a real wood top layer over a stable plywood core. Engineered is better for underfloor heating, ground floors, and areas with humidity variation. Solid wood can be sanded more times but is more susceptible to movement.
