For the herringbone or parquet look without the cost and fitting time of real wood, this range covers laminate in herringbone, tile, and Versailles panel patterns, 8mm to 12.3mm thick, mostly in oak finish effects.

Herringbone

• Individual short planks laid in the classic zigzag, giving a genuine parquet look at a laminate price point
• Available in 8mm and 12mm thicknesses, with the thicker boards generally feeling more solid underfoot

Versailles panels

• A larger-format decorative panel option, giving a more ornate, traditional look than standard herringbone
• Fitted as bigger single pieces, which can mean fewer joins across a room compared with individual herringbone planks

Fitting

Like standard laminate, this range uses a click-lock system, floated over an underlay rather than glued or nailed down. Herringbone and Versailles patterns take a bit more care and time to lay out correctly than straight plank laminate, since the pattern needs to line up as it's fitted.

Where it works

These patterns suit living rooms, hallways and dining rooms particularly well, where there's enough floor space for an intricate pattern to read properly. A small or heavily broken-up room can make herringbone or Versailles harder to appreciate.
