Evergreen Engineered Oak Flooring

Every board in this range is oak, but the spread is genuinely wide: thicknesses from 14mm to 20mm, widths from 120mm up to 220mm, and wear layers from 3mm to 6mm, spread across several named collections that each bring a different width and finish combination.

Named collections

• Oakley — 190mm and 220mm widths, 20mm thick, including a Scandinavian-style oiled option alongside standard oiled and brushed finishes
• Elwood — 190mm wide, 14mm thick, a mix of oiled, matt lacquered, and hardwax oiled finishes across several colourways
• Richmond — 150mm wide, 18mm thick, matt lacquered and UV oiled options
• Camden and Oxford — 125mm and 150mm widths, 14mm thick, in brushed UV lacquered and brushed wax oiled finishes

Because the collections split by width and thickness rather than all sharing one format, it's worth deciding on the width you want first, then narrowing to the collections that come in it, rather than browsing finish or colour first.

Wear layer and refinishing

The wear layer varies by collection: 3mm on some Camden and Oxford boards, up to 4mm and 6mm on the thicker Oakley and Richmond boards. As with other engineered ranges, a thicker wear layer gives more scope for sanding and refinishing over the floor's life, so if that matters to you, it's worth checking the specific top layer thickness of the collection you're considering rather than assuming it's uniform across the whole Evergreen range.

Finish options

Finishes across the range include standard lacquered and matt lacquered, oiled and wax oiled, and a light smoked, brushed and UV lacquered option that combines a smoked colour treatment with a textured brushed surface. The smoked options give a deeper, more weathered tone than the natural oak finishes, worth considering if you want something with more visual depth than a standard light oak.

Fitting

Evergreen's engineered boards are 1-strip plank format, fitted using standard engineered wood installation methods, and suit most rooms in a typical home given the engineered core's better resistance to humidity changes than solid wood.
